How old is your sax? A guide to serial# of the most popular brands.

Compare Mouthpieces!  For your convenience I added a list of all popular mouthpieces with their tip-openings in inches.

The Grafton plastic alto:It needs to be completely overhauled. It is not for sale yet, but I couldn't resist making a picture of it...click on the name.

The ultimate ligature...François Louis designed a ligature different from anything we have seen so far. Four small, brass tubes are the only parts of the ligature actually touching the mouthpiece. This design allows the reed and mouthpiece to vibrate freely. It enhances tone, volume and dynamics. It's available for clarinet, hard rubber soprano, alto and tenor and metal alto and tenor mouthpiece.

Try it! It's simply too good to ignore....

Wolfgang Codera's ADDjust® Balancer
The position of the neck strap ring of a saxophone, bass clarinet or bassoon is standardized but actually does not fit most players. Using different types of neck straps cannot achieve the results which are relevant concerning physiological aspects. The ADDjust® Balancer helps balancing the instrument in a physiological way. The "balancer" will allow you to vary the angle between instrument and your body. The price for this great accessory is Euro 59.00.

The M15: a new clarinet mouthpiece from Vandoren!

The M15 is played with strong reeds.
It is a fairly closed mouthpiece with a long facing. It produces a deep sound, rich in harmonics, and allows the musician even greater expressiveness. It is easy to match with the appropriate reeds.
This mouthpiece, available with a Profile 88 beak, is the first to be designed in two pitches:

"M 15"; a traditional mouthpiece (pitch 442 Hz)

"M15 13": an optimized bore for the 13 series (American pitch 440 Hz)

Musicians with both mouthpieces have the advantage of being able to play with the most consistent accuracy in any kind of situation, without having to resort to another barrel or to "pull" the instrument. This is the first mouthpiece produced by Vandoren in the 21st century, and its enthusiastic reception as soon as it was Serie 13 released promises to make it another legendary mouthpiece.

New reeds from Vandoren now in stock!
The 56 Rue Lepic Reeds:

Designed from thicker cane, the 56 emits a rich, centered and extremely pure sound while providing maximum stability in all registers. Its quick response ensures precision in the most difficult passages without sacrificing the extraordinary round and warm sound. Precision is extended to the new numbering system that offers a more specific range of strengths in each box for consistent performance.
And the new 56 Rue Lepic comes in humidity balanced factory fresh packaging so all reeds play as if you selected them in Paris at 56 Rue Lepic.

The Ton Kooiman thumb rest: This universally adjustable thumb rest makes it possible to put the pressure point of the thumb rest from the first phalanx of the thumb to the space between the two joints. The lever momentum is much smaller at this point so the thumb can support the weight more easily. Much of the energy used for supporting the weight then becomes available for handling the instrument, and can be used to improve control and peed up playing technique. Now available in our shop. Flutes & Recorders

Mollenhauer recorders. Impressed by their innovative new models we decided to add the "Canta" models, the "Denner" copies and Adriana Breukink's "Traumflöte" -in soprano, alto and tenor- to our stock. These instruments have a renaissance bore with baroque fingering. Available with single or double tone holes. They have a full two octave range, made in maple and have a curved windway .

Moeck redesigned their Consort Renaissance Recorders. They are based on instruments in the Hofburgmuseum, Vienna. The fingering of these new series of Renaissance recorders differs somewhat from the conventional Baroque fingering. They are designed with the original Renaissance fingering (R) producing mean tone temperament. The purity of thirds in mean tone is particularly attractive when used for ensemble playing. The series is also available with conventional fingering (B) and temperament.

The "Ton Kooiman finger-rest for flute" is now in production. It will keep your flute in balance with less pressure on your lips

Highlander pickup system for double bass: Over the years we installed many Highlander pickups in the bridge of a double bass. Originally designed for guitars the pre-amp and the battery had to be taped on the tailpiece. Now the preamplifier and battery are housed in a neat, little bag made from durable, black Cordura. It is easily installed on a wide variety of tailpieces.
